CULINES held a ceremony at its Shanghai Headquarters to conclude a new building contract with Yangzijiang Shipbuilding (YZJ). This order is for two container vessels, each with a capacity of 2,400TEU.

This is the second new-building order in CULINES’s investment program following the four 1,900 TEU feeder vessels announced earlier in 2021.

Vessel investment program

Low Load Tunning main engine uses the latest generation of EFI technology to upgrade the ship's energy saving

CULINES' new vessel investment program is focused on reducing environmental impact, while also increasing efficiency and economy of scale within the fleet.

These two vessels are designed by SDARI. The Low Load Tunning main engine uses the latest generation of EFI technology to upgrade the ship's energy saving and carrying efficiency to a higher level, it meets the requirements of the IMO ship Energy Efficiency Design Index EEDI Phase III by the general trend of green and environmental protection.

Digital smart ship management system

In addition, the new vessels will be pre-installed with the digital smart ship management system, which can collect all data from the navigational equipment, engine room equipment, reefer container, etc.

The smart system will allow for the realisation of real-time monitoring and centralised management, increasing the shoreside’s ability to control fleet assets and improve the overall efficiency of ships, while also reducing environmental impact.

Capacity

The two vessels will join CULINES’s fleet in 2023. They will enter into LR CLASS. These vessels are intended for the Intra-Asia trade.

They will not only help CULINES to maintain the necessary capacity to grow with increased demand and stay competitive but also take a significant step forward in modernising CULINES’s fleet.
