The Maritime Standard has confirmed the second session of the Transportation & Climate Change Conference (TMS TACCC 2025), scheduled for Thursday, 25th September 2025 at Saadiyat Rotana Resort, Abu Dhabi.

Under the main theme Accelerating Sustainable Transportation: Innovation, Policy & Climate Action, the conferences Session 2, titled Innovations & Technology for Decarbonised Mobility, will focus on the groundbreaking innovations and enabling technologies transforming transportation systems across maritime and allied sectors.

Real-time emissions monitoring

This session will highlight the pivotal role of AI, automation, and predictive analytics

This session will highlight the pivotal role of artificial intelligence, automation, and predictive analytics in reducing transport emissions, improving operational efficiency, and enabling smart, data-driven logistics.

From real-time emissions monitoring to intelligent fleet management, the technologies presented will demonstrate how innovation is central to achieving sustainability.

Expanding ecosystem of alternative fuels

Attendees will also gain insights into the expanding ecosystem of alternative fuels, such as green hydrogen, e-methanol, biofuels, and battery-electric solutions, alongside advancements in fuel storage and refuelling infrastructure. These breakthroughs are key to decarbonising heavy transport, including maritime, rail, and aviation.

A key feature of the session will be the evolution of green ports and terminals, which are becoming innovation hubs through technologies such as onshore power supply (OPS), electrified cargo handling, and automated logistics systems that reduce emissions during port operations.

Decarbonisation in bulk and container shipping

Session will also address emerging technologies that are enabling decarbonisation in bulk shipping

The session will also address emerging technologies that are enabling decarbonisation in bulk and container shipping, including carbon capture systems, sustainable ship design, and advanced retrofitting solutions.

A strong emphasis will be placed on the role of ecosystem enablers—such as classification societies, marine engineering firms, engine manufacturers, and maritime startups—in delivering scalable, sector-wide change.

Integrity of carbon credit systems

The conference will close the session with a forward-looking discussion on digital twins, IoT, and blockchain technologies, which are revolutionising emissions tracking, optimising vessel performance, and ensuring the integrity of carbon credit systems.

With a focus on practical applications and scalable innovation, Session 2 of TMS TACCC 2025 will offer attendees valuable insight into the technologies redefining the future of transportation and maritime sustainability.
