Recently completing his cadet shipping term aboard the Crowley-managed tanker MV American Liberty, Gonzalez looks forward to sailing with Crowley once he graduates and continues to fulfill his commitment with the U.S. Navy Reserves as a part of the academy’s Strategic Sealift Midshipmen Program. Reasoner, a junior from Jacksonville, Florida, is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in marine transportation with a U.S. Coast Guard Third Mate licence.

Small boat handling

Reasoner volunteers with the Cadet Boat Program, training fellow cadets on small boat handling, and volunteers as the Oakland Seaman Center to provide COVID-19 vaccines to mariners aboard foreign-flagged vessels. Completing his cadet shipping term aboard the Crowley-managed tanker MV Golden State, Reasoner looks forward to sailing with Crowley’s tanker fleet once he graduates.

Since 1984, Crowley has provided more than $3 million dollars in financial assistance to more than 1,000 students studying at maritime academies and other select schools in the United States mainland, Puerto Rico and Central America.
