Bolstering their joint commitment to the development of a secure national maritime infrastructure, the organising committee of Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX) has announced Qatar Ports Management Company (Mwani Qatar) as a ‘Silver Sponsor’ for its seventh edition, which will return to the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) in less than 100 days.

DIMDEX 2020 will be held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, and will be hosted and organised by Qatar Armed Forces under the theme ‘Connecting the World’s Maritime Defence and Security Community’.

Highlighting the significance of the sponsorship agreement, Staff Brigadier (Sea) Abdulbaqi S. With the support of Mwani and the facilities of Hamad Port - one of the largest ports​ in the Middle East with an annual capacity of 7.5 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) - DIMDEX will be able to accommodate visiting vessels of international navies while welcoming patrons to visit and experience the warships and meet the crew. Since its inaugural 2008 edition, DIMDEX has welcomed more than 80 naval ships from around the world, to dock at Qatar’s leading seaports.
