The UK-based Kohler distributor Atlantis Marine Power has been purchased by SAIM Group. The acquisition strengthens SAIM's presence in international markets and gives more opportunities for distribution in the UK. Due to the acquisition SAIM and AMP will be the two most important Kohler distributors in Europe.

Atlantis Marine Power

Founded in 1986, Atlantis Marine Power (AMP) became a well-known regional player in the supply and support of marine mechanical and electrical equipment both to leisure craft and commercial boat manufacturers. The company was acquired in 2005 by Paul Lakey and Peter Middleton. Peter will stay in the company as a partner and Director.

The acquisition will give AMP the opportunity to become a more powerful company, quicker in response and more diversified in the offer and to add more quality components to their product range.

Territorial diversification

SAIM Group will have the chance to sell its products directly in the UK and become a strong partner to British boatbuilders and shipyards, as is already the case in Italy and in the Emirates. The acquisition is the first step for SAIM towards territorial diversification.

SAIM Group is strongly investing in new business opportunities both in new markets and technologies, especially regarding renewable energy solutions. The acquisition of AMP is fully synergic and will allow SAIM to get in touch with innovative component manufacturers in the UK.
