Yang Ming to launch China-Australia direct service “CA2”

Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation (Yang Ming) has announced a new direct service connecting China and Australia. The CHINA-AUSTRALIA-2 SERVICE (Loop Code: CA2) will set sail on 10 March 2022 (ETA Qingdao). Deploying a fleet of six 3,500-3,900 TEU vessels, this new service is a joint operation with T. S. Lines Ltd., Pacific International Lines (Pte) Ltd., and Sea Lead Shipping. The rotation of CA2 is Qingdao – Shanghai – Nansha – Shekou – Sydney – Melbourne – Brisbane - Qingdao. Three loops In addition to CA2 service, Yang Ming also provides other three loops covering China/ Southeast Asia markets: CAT: Ningbo – Shanghai – Shekou – Kaohsiung – Melbourne – Sydney – Brisbane – Ningbo AA1: LAEM CHABANG – Singapore – Melbourne – Sydney – Brisbane – Singapore – LAEM CHABANG AA2: Singapore – Port Kelang – Fremantle – Sydney – Melbourne – Adelaide – Fremantle – Singapore Yang Ming will continue enhancing its service network, providing customers with more reliable and comprehensive delivery services across the Asia - Australia markets.

T.S. Lines, KMTC and X-Press Feeders announce the launch of the China - Western India - Pakistan Loop

T.S. Lines LTD., KMTC (Korea Marine Transport Co., Ltd.) and X-Press Feeders will launch in late October 2020, a weekly service connecting China, the Straits, Western India and Pakistan. The China - Western India - Pakistan Loop will return to East Asia via a way port call at Colombo, Sri Lanka. China - Western India - Pakistan Loop T.S. Lines and X-Press Feeders will market the new offer as ‘China India West Coast X-Press’ (CWX), while KMTC will market it as ‘AIS4’. The ‘CWX / AIS4’ service will call at Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou (CCT), Singapore, Port Kelang (N), Nhava Sheva, Karachi, Mundra, Colombo, Port Kelang (N), Hong Kong, and Shanghai. At Port Kelang, T.S. Lines and X-Press Feeders will handle their cargoes only at the North Port terminal, while KMTC will only use the West Port. The new loop will turn in six weeks, using six ships of 4,200 to 5,000 teu. X-Press Feeders will contribute four vessels, while KMTC and T.S. Lines will contribute one vessel each. The first sailing is scheduled from Shanghai for 27 October with the 4,255 teu HARRIER HUNTER.

TS Lines orders two Bangkokmax Containerships of 1,900 Teu at the CSSC-Controlled Guangzhou Huangpu Shipyard

Hong Kong-based TS Lines (TSL) has ordered two 'Bangkokmax' containerships of 1,900 teu at the CSSC-controlled Guangzhou Huangpu Shipyard, China, for a price of USD 22.8 M per unit, with options for a further two ships. The first two ships are planned for delivery in Q3 and Q4 2022. The four ships are aimed at TSL own services in East Asia. Newbuilding pipe line These gearless vessels will be wide beam units of a Loa of 172 m for a breadth of 27.50 m and will be fitted with SOx scrubbers for IMO 2020 compliance. TS Lines currently operates 44 ships of 800 to 5,600 teu aggregating 98,000 teu, of which 14 units are owned. Eight of the owned ships are fitted with SOX scrubbers with two more to be retrofitted by next February. Its new building pipeline also includes two ships of 2,700 teu. The new buildings will allow TS Lines to own half of the ships it deploys, reducing substantially its reliance on the charter market.
