The much-awaited iconic Route du Rhum race is fast approaching. IEC Telecom will be providing its state-of-the-art satellite communication services to 40+ racing boats during their journey across the Atlantic.

The event officially kicks off on October 25th, 2022 with the opening of the Villages in the City of Saint-Malo, France. The racing event will commence on November 6th, 2022 with 138 solo sailors setting sail for the historic port of Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe.

Satcom products and solutions

IEC Telecom will provide participants with a wide range of satcom products and solutions, including L-band connectivity over Inmarsat FleetBroadband, Iridium Certus 200, Iridium Certus 700, and Iridium GO to maintain constant communications as well as voice services over advanced Iridium handsets.

The participants can also avail of IEC Telecom’s value-added services such as OptiView to keep a check on the onboard network status and filtration solutions for cost-effective connectivity on multihull boats such as the Ultim Class and monohull boats such as the Imoca Class.

The route attracts some of the best solo racers every four years to traverse 3,542 miles.
