As part of its effort to expand its presence in the East African markets, WEG is taking significant steps to increase its presence in Uganda through a partnership with Petrok as a Value Added Reseller (VAR).

Petrok's local presence and technical expertise, along with the reliability of WEG products in the market, will facilitate this expansion.

The expected economic growth from projects like as the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP), along with the existing strength of sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, utilities, cement, and oil and gas in Uganda, offer potential opportunities for WEG to offer their products and solutions.

With this significant move, the company will strengthen its market position in Uganda with its line of electric motors, as well as medium and high-voltage solutions.

Efficient and reliable products

The commitment to delivering efficient and reliable products at a competitive price

WEG has been providing products to customers in Uganda for over a decade, and this partnership extends support to customers and opens up new markets.

The commitment to delivering efficient and reliable products at a competitive price demonstrates the customer-centric approach that attracts businesses in Uganda.

Investments in energy and water

The coffee sector already has a strong reference base, with many factories using Brazilian processing machines equipped with WEG motors, drives, and soft starters.

With agriculture being the largest contributor to Uganda's economy, other significant sectors also include manufacturing, utilities, cement, and oil and gas. Considerable investments have also been made in energy and water projects in East Africa, primarily by Asian countries.

Value Added Reseller

Petrok was chosen as a Value Added Reseller after a rigorous evaluation process conducted by WEG

When completed, the EACOP, this major project will see the transportation of crude oil from Uganda for nearly 1,450 km, from Kabaale in Uganda to Tanga, Tanzania.

Petrok was chosen as a Value Added Reseller after a rigorous evaluation process conducted by WEG, and there is confidence that they will provide customer support with the same stringent standards as the company. The company has the necessary expertise in its field, with a robust technical team composed of engineers and technicians who have the proper knowledge of the products.

Low-voltage products

Petrok's facilities in Kampala allow for local storage of WEG's low-voltage products, such as electric motors, drives, and others, as well as providing facilities for minor works. The company's sales team also ensures efficient customer service and the expansion of distribution channels in Uganda.

With the quality and reputation of WEG products, the Ugandan market will benefit from the same competitiveness as other customers. This includes the five-year warranty on the WEG W22 IE3 motor, a testament to the company's reliability.
