The ceremony, organized by the Engineering Institute, celebrated his successful trajectory and contributions to the industrial sector. The event was broadcast live on the Institute’s website and YouTube channel.

Largest international players

"Engineering has always played a central role in my life. From the beginning, when I joined WEG’s school at the age of 12, still as an apprentice, to the most significant moments of my career, it was engineering that guided my steps and gave me the ability to dream of a more efficient and innovative future," said Décio da Silva upon receiving the title of Eminent Engineer of the Year 2024.

Most significant moments

The Engineering Institute has awarded the title of Eminent Engineer of the Year since 1963, honoring professionals who stand out for their achievements and positive impact on the development of engineering. Décio da Silva was chosen for his enduring contribution to engineering and the Brazilian industry, highlighting WEG as an example of innovation and excellence.

Currently, in addition to WEG’s Board of Directors, Décio da Silva is a member of the WPA Board, an investment company and the parent company of the WEG Group, and is Chairman of the Board of Oxford Porcelanas, one of WPA’s controlled companies.
