Navalshore 2025 spurs Brazilian shipbuilding growth

In its 19th edition, Navalshore 2025 is consolidating its position as the largest maritime industry trade fair in Latin America, marked by significant growth in both infrastructure and industry participation. The event will take place from August 19 to 21 at Expo Rio Cidade Nova (formerly Expo Mag) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with the exhibition area expanded from 6,000 to 10,000 square metres. The number of exhibitors has also increased, from 110 to 136 companies, representing over 400 national and international brands from the naval and offshore supply chain. New investment cycle Navalshore 2025 is expected to drive the generation of over R$12 billion in business and partnerships This expansion reflects the new investment cycle of the Brazilian shipbuilding industry, which recorded over R$30 billion in investments in 2024 — the highest volume in more than a decade, according to data from the Merchant Marine Fund.  Additionally, another R$22 billion has been approved by the fund in 2025 for new projects, confirming a vigorous recovery scenario. Within this strategic context, Navalshore 2025 is expected to drive the generation of over R$12 billion in business, encompassing initiated contracts, business partnerships, and connections among suppliers, shipowners, shipyards, and industry institutions. New business opportunities “Navalshore is arriving in 2025 larger and more representative. The entry of new players such as WEG, Kongsberg, Estaleiro Mac Laren, and the American Bureau of Shipping reinforces market confidence and the fair’s role as a decisive environment for business, partnerships, and strategic decisions,” says Rosângela Vieira, Director of Navalshore. The event aims to promote a favourable environment for forming partnerships, fostering new business opportunities, and encouraging knowledge exchange among pioneering companies in the industry. To achieve this, Navalshore 2025 will feature a technical program structured into two complementary formats. Future of the naval and offshore industries Lecture Series will provide a space where participating companies can present solutions The official conference, held over the three days of the event, will include themed panels and individual lectures, bringing together specialists, authorities, and sector representatives to discuss the challenges and future of the naval and offshore industries. In parallel, the Lecture Series will provide a space where participating companies can present solutions, case studies, and innovations directly to the fair’s technical and decision-making audience. Brazilian naval sector During the first two days of the event, a business matchmaking round will be held to foster connections between suppliers, shipowners, shipyards, and logistics operators.
