Cell Design Bahamas Ltd, one of the renowned ICT services company in The Bahamas, added satellite services to its portfolio by signing a significant distributorship agreement with MetOcean Telematics (MetOcean).

Met-Ocean is a prominent global Iridium Satellite Value-Added Reseller (VAR) focused on Iridium hardware solutions, data services, and support. MetOcean is a pioneer in the satellite communications industry. This partnership opens the doors for them to pioneering satellite services being offered by Iridium Satellite Communications, globally.

Partners on vessel monitoring

Offering voice and data connectivity through a constellation of 66 crosslinked LEO satellites

In a world where global communications are increasingly essential, Iridium connects everyone to the things that matter most, from pole to pole. Offering voice and data connectivity through a constellation of 66 crosslinked LEO satellites, Iridium keeps people – and things – connected on the land, in the air, or at sea.

"Our organisation realised the lack of coordinated communications post-disaster events, during the search, rescue, and recovery. Out of this partnership, we believe a comprehensive solution that encompasses strategy and technology can emerge. We look forward to partnering with the various local agencies (governmental, private, and NGOs), to plan a comprehensive communications response to disaster events. Additionally, we have engaged a few partners on vessel monitoring and fleet management/tracking and with the Iridium Edge Solar, this will be a game-changer," said Jeffrey Walcott, President, and CEO.

Partnership with Cell Design

"MetOcean is thrilled to support this new partnership with Cell Design in the Bahamas. The region is often faced with extreme weather systems, which put their terrestrial communication networks at risk. Cell Design Bahamas is now well-positioned to serve the region when it comes to emergency preparedness, disaster recovery and coastal search and rescue efforts," said Jonathan McArthur, Business Development Manager, MetOcean Telematics.

Cell Design Bahamas is excited about the new possibilities and certainly, it gives the organisation the ability to introduce the latest and greatest new satellite services in the Bahamas.
